MAIN PURPOSES: Establishing UNIMED had two main purposes:
Promoting ecological principles in the social and economic domain for implementation of viable alternatives in global environmental problem-solving and creating sustainable society;
Representing businesses involved in solving environmental problems in relations with governmental institutions, with central and local government, with civil society organizations from Romania and other countries to promote their products and activities in business relations.
UNIMED member companies are also members of Employers Confederation UGIR 1903, the largest in Romania, with national representation in 42 counties. Both the Employers' Association UNIMED and 29 other professional employers' associations are part of UGIR -1903.
Representativeness: The association has 80 active members, businesses and individuals in Bucharest and the counties and covers a wide range of activities and specialization.
Employers' Association of Producers and Users of Industrial Equipment for Environmental Protection - UNIMED represents the interests of environmental industry in Romania, but also the interests of users of industrial equipment for environmental protection in our country. Association is working with the Balkan Environment Association BENA. The APOLITICAL CHARACTER of UNIMED acts based on its own strategy, without any influence of a party or a political doctrine of Romania. The apolitical nature is stressed and it is completely restricted by Statute.
OBJECTIVES: The strategy to support the employers’ interests of UNIMED has the following objectives:
Accelerating the transition of Romania from an economic centralized space to West European economic space
Representation of employers’ interests in a tripartite relation between government, employers and trade unions wikth social dialogue structures at central and local level, Economic and Social Council, Ministries, National Agencies, county councils in environmental issues
Imposing strategy for facilities for foreign investors in Romania, legislative stability and achieving international standards in matters of industrial and urban environmental protection;
Providing direct services to our members - the database and business intelligence, access to domestic and international founding sources to solve environmental problems, Romania's alignment with international standards on environmental management systems
Technical and specialized assistance regarding the training and implementation of environmental management systems.
UNIMED acts on its own strategies for representing the interests of employers in the country and abroad;
Can represent employers in social dialogue structures at central level.
Employers' Association of Producers and Users of Industrial Equipment for Environmental Protection - UNIMED is the recipient of Leonardo Da Vinci Programme with information and training program for environmental protection: BIO-ENVIROMENT & NEW MILLENNIUM.
In this program UNIMED participate in partnership with companies from eight countries and in Romania, UNIMED is the only beneficiary of the program.
